Mulla had two goats that he guarded with his life. One day, one of the goats realized its rope was loose, slipped out, and ran away. Mulla searched everywhere but couldn't find it. He marched back to the barn, grabbed a stick, and started beating the second goat, which was just peacefully eating hay while tied to its post. The neighbors heard the commotion, ran over, and yelled, "What are you doing? You're going to kill the poor thing! This one didn't run away!" Mulla panted, "You don't understand! If this rascal's rope hadn't been tied so tight, he would have run away twice as fast as the other one!"
