The Henpecked Men
Mulla went to the governor and asked for a decree allowing him to confiscate one chicken from every man in the province who was afraid of his wife. Knowing Mulla’s antics, the governor humored him and signed the warrant.
After traveling for a few days, Mulla returned with a massive flock of nearly a hundred chickens. When he arrived at the governor's mansion, the governor was amazed. "You got all these chickens with that warrant?"
"I could have gotten a chicken from every man in your territory, but I got bored," Mulla said. "Anyway, I came back to tell you that in the next town over, I saw a beautiful woman with a lovely voice who would make a perfect new bride for you."
The governor instantly panicked, put a finger to his lips, and whispered, "Mulla, keep your voice down! My wife is listening behind that door!"
Mulla nodded, turned to the guards, and said, "Go ahead and add one more chicken to my flock."
