The Price of a Good Speech

Mulla was invited to speak at a village. He said he’d only do it if everyone paid him five coins. Curious about what wisdom was worth that much, the villagers scrambled to get the money. On the day of the speech, with his pockets jingling, Mulla delivered a beautiful, profound sermon. Afterward, he stepped down and said, "Alright, everyone come get your money back!" Confused, the villagers asked what the point of all this was. Mulla smiled, "I didn't need your money. But there are two lessons here: First, you listened way more closely because you thought you paid for it. Second, I spoke way better because I had a pocket full of cash!"
