The Price of Dying

Written story
Mulla arrived in a new city and heard that the Governor gave an 80-coin stipend to pay for the funerals of any poor strangers who died in town. Broke, Mulla went to the Governor and said, "I'm a poor stranger, and I really need some cash. Could you just give me 40 coins as an advance on my funeral, and we'll settle the rest when I die?" The Governor was so amused he actually gave him the 40 coins. A few days later, Mulla returned. "I'm leaving town today and I probably won't come back here to die. Could you just give me the other 40 coins now so we can close the account?"
